Two podiums for Northern Ireland at the Topper Europeans in Weymouth, with Leo West-Hurst 2nd in a 70-boat fleet and Daniel Long 3rd in the 4.2s.
Northern Ireland sailors came home from the International Topper Class European Championships at the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy with two podium finishes.

Silver for Leo West-Hurst
Leo West-Hurst (Ballyholme YC and Royal Ulster YC) finished 2nd overall in the 70-boat Topper 5.3 fleet. A retirement in race 1 meant he had no room for error, and he responded with a race win in race 3 and top-six finishes in every other race. It follows his bronze at the Topper World Championships in Quiberon this summer.
Edward Reynolds (Donaghadee SC) finished 10th, Penny Doig (East Antrim Boat Club) was 30th overall and 10th girl, and Max Boyd (Ballyholme YC) was 35th.
Bronze for Daniel Long
In the 24-boat Topper 4.2 fleet, Daniel Long (East Down YC) finished 3rd. He was on the podium in each of the first four races, including two 2nds.
Well done to all five sailors, and thank you to the coaches and families who supported them in Weymouth.
