We are delighted to announce that Roger Craig has won the ILCA 7 Master European Championship in La Baule, France, taking the title by a single point after nine races.
Roger, RYA NI’s Racing Officer, finished on 39 points, one ahead of Greece’s Aristotelis Chatzistamatiou on 40. Spain’s Leandro Rosado finished third on 56 points.
Racing in La Baule took place in steady 8-11 knot breezes on flat water, and the championship went down to the wire. The final two races settled the winners in every fleet and age category.
The European title follows a busy season for Roger, who raced in the ILCA 7 Men’s World Championship on Dublin Bay last month before heading to France.
