Carrickfergus Sailing Club played host to the Topper Northern Championships, with 57 sailors competing across the Full Sail and 4.2 classes in what proved to be a competitive and exciting day of racing.
Four races were sailed in each class, with one discard applying to final scores.
Full Sail Class
Leo West-Hurst of Ballyholme Yacht Club delivered an outstanding performance to take the Full Sail title, posting three race wins from four races to finish on a net score of just three points. A dominant display from start to finish.
Emma West-Hurst, also of Ballyholme Yacht Club, had a strong event to finish 8th overall and 3rd girl in the Full Sail fleet.
Charlie Haslett of Strangford Lough Yacht Club finished 9th overall, with Penny Doig of East Antrim Boat Club in 10th and Max Boyd of Ballyholme Yacht Club and Quoile Yacht Club in 12th.

The 4.2 class saw 14 boats on the water across four races. Daniel Long of East Down Yacht Club put in a brilliant performance to finish 2nd overall, showing real pace throughout the series with a first place finish in race four.
