Irish Sailing Junior Champions Cup 2025

Fastnet Marine & Outdoor Education Centre, Schull, Co. Cork

Sixteen of Ireland’s top Junior Helms were invited to take part in the cup, each nominated by their respective classes, normally by winning their National championships.
The event was a race in TR3.6, a one-design two-person team racing dinghy that would be foreign to all competitors, making the event a true test to be the most rounded sailor and able to pick up how to handle the new craft but an added complexity for the single-handed sailors, who had to find a crew.

Light airs delayed the opener but racing then got underway in sunshine champaign conditions.

Adam Green teamed up with fellow Topper Sailors Molly Hooper-Jones to finish 4th with four out of the 6 races in the top 3 including a race win.

Other NI Sailors representing were Cormac Byrne, Alex Eadie and James Eadie

Irish Sailing’s Racing Manager, Stephen O’Shaughnessy, highlighted the “array of talent coming through the youth system.”

It is great to see our sailors competing and enjoying their time on the water, but see it across such an array of classes and race formats is impressive. It shows our wo
