The Northern Ireland Sailing Team has formed an exciting new partnership with sailing brand, Covy Watersport. covywatersport.com
The new partnership offers a wide range of benefits for athletes and clubs, providing free or discounted sailing gear to support sailing across Northern Ireland.

· 30% discount off Covy Watersports kit for all NI Sailing Team members (on water and on shore)
· 15% discount to all Northern Irish club orders of Covy Watersports kit (on water and on shore)
On top of these benefits, athletes will have the opportunity to work closely with Covy Watersports to develop gear to suit their specific needs.
Commenting on the new partnership, RYA Northern Ireland Performance Manager, Andrew Baker said: “This is a great partnership because it helps ease the campaign costs on equipment for our athletes, but they will also build experience in working with brands and sponsors. They will have more credibility to work with future partners.
“The ethos of the NI Sailing team has always been about national pride and a sense of our sailors out there representing our sailing communities and clubs. The benefits clubs will receive are a ‘giving back’ support piece where the team aspires to support clubs to grow the depth and talent of our grass roots programmes and other club programmes.”
The Covy Watersports partnership with the Northern Ireland Sailing Team is a ‘Silver Tier Partnership’ meaning they are one of several lead Northern Ireland Sailing Team sponsors.
Being a Silver Tier Partner will increase the brand awareness of Covy Watersports, as their logo will be included on Northern Ireland Sailing Team clothing, they will have the opportunity to connect with Northern Ireland Sailing Team athletes and their brand will be promoted on the Northern Ireland Sailing Team website and RYA Northern Ireland social media channels.
Commenting on the new partnership, Covy Watersports founder, Cillian Griffith said: “As a local born brand supporting athletes on the international stage, we aim to use this to help grow the visibility of our sport and show the excitement, achievement and friendships created within our sailing community.
“Covy Watersports’ vision is to develop a brand and product range that supports our athletes and gives them a home-grown range of high-performance gear they are proud to wear on the international stage. Our vision very much aligns with the vision of the NI Sailing Team which is to Maximise Athlete Potential.
“Our new range of sailing gear is being developed in collaboration with our Olympic sailors, members of the NI Sailing Team and Team Ireland to ensure our products are made to the highest standards but also allowing feedback and buy-in from athletes to help maximise athlete potential. We love the vision of the NI Sailing Team and Covy are proud to become the official kit partner.”
The Northern Ireland Sailing Team offer a wide range of partnership opportunities for those aiming to support sailors in achieving their aspirations of performing at the highest stage and progressing towards the Olympic Games.
